I'm Being Watched

At least that's what the following e-mail states.

It's junk e-mail and I usually never pay no mind to these, but for some odd reason, I read this one.

Please don't tell anyone. Apparently I'll get terminated if you do...

You have no need of knowing who I am or where I am from.I know this may sound very surprising to you but it's the situation. the problem is, if I dont KILL YOU somebody else will. I have been paid some ransom in advance to terminate you with some reasons listed to me by my employer.It's someone I believe you call a friend, Do not contact the police or try to send a copy of this to them,because I am watching you close, and I might be pushed to do what I have been paid to do, this is the 1st time I turn out to be a betrayer in my job. I took pity on you,that is why I have made up my mind to help you if you are willing to help yourself.

Get back to me as soon as possible

What happens when I get back to them? If they're going to kill me, why would I contact them?

  1. That's a bit disturbing, isn't it. Most of my junk mail is about enhancing my penis size, so she'll love it more. And I thought that was disturbing...

  2. I can only think that they want you to pay them off so they will *not* kill you.

    I agree, very bizarre. But now you get to play the fun game "which of my friends is most likely to hire someone to kill me?"

  3. Audrey: where's $Bill to comment on your comment? I'm not sure you are aware of the fact that I have such paranoid tendencies that I have thought that my closest friends were out to kill me, including $Bill, Carl and even Jim Lamm -- which you all don't know but he reads this. I wanted to surprise Jim, one day, with a blog posting about that murderous scenario that I imagined in my head...

    So you're not far from my truth...if I hadn't recognized junk mail so easily, I would have been more suspicious...but then I was like "hmmm...did they make it look like junk mail? and i am really a target? why did i just HAPPEN to read this one...is it intuition?"

    So a little insight to my mucked up brain...

  4. I got the same e-mail.

    It was to my alter ego and as such I became just another figment of some one else s imagination.

    My blog and persona is all made up but this duck had not the faintest idea that he was assigned to eliminate a 2-dimensional glitz in the fabric of the nether world.

    Just for the fun of it I googled and came up with your posting.

  6. It is a new approach to grab email addresses and this uses a powerful text to encourage people to contact the spammer email. Just ignore it :)
